PRO-TEST

It's a test -
Lennon, not Lenin, wrote this about protest & revolution:
You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world.
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out.
I’ve attended other No Kings protests, and this one felt different.
I heard speeches fueled by fury and anger.
It brought to mind a Leonard Cohen song—
Cohen wrote:
I fought in the old revolution
On the side of the ghost and the king.
Into this furnace, I ask you now to venture
You whom I cannot betray.
A protest is an expression of hope, but it can also become a place where anger feeds on itself.
The real test of a protest: not how loudly we demand change, but what we are willing to build in its place.
